Job Description

A dynamic and growing construction firm is seeking an experienced CFO/Controller to join their team. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage all aspects of financial oversight within the company. The position is based in Queens, NY, with a requirement to work in the office five days a week. Local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Manage the general ledger accounting process, including month-end close activities.
Ensure timely and accurate management of accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Provide expert guidance on complex financial transactions and technical accounting matters.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for business improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Prepare detailed financial reports for senior management to aid in decision-making.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Requirements:
A degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA designation preferred.
Significant experience as a CFO/Controller, particularly in the Construction, Architecture, or Engineering industries.
Strong experience in project accounting and Work In Progress (WIP) management.
Expertise in financial reporting, ideally within a public company or large organization.
