Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Machinist II who assists in maintaining plant production by making repairs within the scope of expertise, interprets and follows through on work orders following various safe work procedures, makes mechanical repairs on plant equipment, and performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis.

• Assists in maintaining plant production by making repairs within the scope of expertise
• Interprets and follows through on work orders following various safe work procedures
• Makes mechanical repairs on plant equipment and performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Learns to identify equipment malfunctions and repair them before catastrophic failure
• Begins to develop expertise in a specialized skill
• Operates manual machining equipment or machine shop (Lathes and Mills)
• Interact with peers, supervisors, and internal/external customers
• May work on special projects with peers from other work groups

Skills Required

• Minimum 5 years' manual lathe experience
• Experience on 3 and 4 jaw chucks
• Worked with exotic metals
• Able to rigid tap and drill
• Hold tolerance .001 - .003 
• Able to compound angles
• GD&T
• Able to chase lead threads
• Shop math
• Work with little supervision
• Able to perform own set-ups
• Proficient in use of calipers, OD/ID/depth micrometers
• Ability to read and interpret routine instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (Mfg.)
• Set up, monitor, and operate various equipment associated with the manufacturing facility requirements (Mfg.)
• May operate multiple machines simultaneously (Mfg.)
• May perform quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing/engineering specifications and ISO requirements

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma

Additional Requirements

• Special Equipment Required: Steel toe boots
  • Start Day of week: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Saturday & Sunday OT as needed)

Pay Rate/Salary

• $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
