Job Description

Location: GAC Tulsa, 6911 North Whirlpool Drive, Tulsa, OK- 74117 

Pay Rate: 19 per hour 

Schedule: 5am to 3:30pm 

Onsite

Must haves: 

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Entry level position

• Strong mechanical aptitude 

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Listening and computer keyboard skills 

• Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math 

• Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions 

• Essential personal skills, including: 

• Aptitude for hands-on craftwork 

• Professional attitude 

• Attention to detail 

• Ability to work with people and meet demanding schedules 

• Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices 

• Proficiency in current personal computer-based software 

• Availability to work any shift 

• Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds 

Preferred: 

• Enrollment in a Technical Aviation program

Position Purpose: 

• Entry-level position with training in aircraft manufacturing processes 

• Work in a team environment under direct supervision 

• Perform various structural assembly operations in a production department 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Perform fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting operations using basic mechanic hand tools (pneumatic drills, rivet gun, countersinks, reamers, files, etc.) under specific instruction and guidance 
2. Ensure parts and work content meet instructions from assigned manufacturing employee and/or Quality Control Inspector 
3. Learn to read work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets to determine sequence of operation and work requirements 
4. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners 
5. Observe and assist to become familiar with parts and assemblies, gradually working with decreasing supervision as experience is gained
