Oregon Training Institute (OTI) Training Specialist


Start

Status : Full time; Non-Exempt

Wage : $24.04 / Hour ($50,000 / year equivalent)

Supervisor : OTI Workforce Development Manager

General Description

The Training Specialist is responsible for implementing the logistical and organizational work for Oregon Training Institute workforce development programs. This position assists the Workforce Development Manager in coordinating and organizing training needs and outcomes which may include data collection and entry, planning and organizing events, creating timelines and assigning tasks for project completions, tracking participants and activities, researching venues and communicating with stakeholders, and overseeing the distribution of promotional materials.



Essential Duties

  • Training Program Coordination
    • Coordinate instruction in classroom and field settings for workforce development related projects
    • Assist in the coordination of trainings and information sessions with the Oregon Energy Coordinators and Affiliates (OECA). To include individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, and computer-based training
    • Coordinate and provide event management for workforce development projects
    • Secure trainers, locations, and facilities to conduct trainings and meetings for workforce development
  • Data Management
    • Manage private demographic information and testing data
  • Reporting
    • Compile data and analyze past and current year project requirements and deliverables
  • Outreach
    • Participate in planning and represent OTI at trade shows, seminars, conferences, and speaking opportunities at the request of the Workforce Development Manager
    • Work closely with the Workforce Development Manager to ensure a consistent public relations and marketing message is being delivered
  • Program Maintenance
    • Maintain tracking systems to document revisions and attendees at the trainings/conferences and measure their progress
    • Coordinate maintenance of Asset Management systems and Inventory Tracking systems
    • Participate in annual Internal Review of Safety Procedures, Curriculum Review, Organizational Goals, and documentation revision needs assessments.

Required Qualifications



  • Administration experience
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Website and Learning Management Systems administration
  • Knowledge of invoicing processes and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • A valid Oregon Driver’s License, current auto insurance and a driving record that will allow individual to be added to organization insurance.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bi-lingual, Spanish/English preferred
  • Experience with energy conservation programs
  • Understanding of building trades and energy conservation principles
  • Experience in workforce development programs.

  • Ability to work independently/remotely with a flexible work schedule
  • Work well within a team environment and with community members
  • Work on various tasks simultaneously in an effective, efficient manner
  • Available to work outside of normal working hours, as necessary
  • Travel within Oregon State, as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and decision making
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of PC, email, word processing, and database software
