What you will be doing:
- Responsible for development, deployment, and continuous improvement of Quality Policy
- Active in cross-functional and preventative support of the design, manufacture, and post-sale performance of products
- Key leader in creation of a “zero-defect” mentality and behavior
- Lead Supplier Quality activities and be intimately involved in customer documentation activities
- Deploying continuous improvement activities
- Initiate and drive projects to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery
- Develop, master and communicate customs, procedures, protocol and policies of the Quality Assurance/Control and Manufacturing Departments
- Document all transactions as designated
- Ensure routine adherence to product procedures as required
- Provide process improvement recommendations and lead/be involved in implementation
- Assist in defining quality standards, prepare inspection or test procedures, and determine examination points for internal and external (supplier, customer) use
- Review and evaluate supplier and/or in-process rejections, obtain disposition and implement containment, corrective and preventative action
- Assist in drawing control and review activities for new and revised engineering documentation
- Review test data prior to shipment to ensure product performance is within specified standards
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and various company departments to prevent and/or resolve quality issues
- Apply SPC principles as appropriate to maximize reliability and inspection efficiencies
- Perform supplier audits, evaluations, and supplier development training
- Perform analysis of manufacturing performance and prepare detailed reports for management on quality metrics, trends, and improvement actions
- Define, contain, and resolve warranty issues with customers
- Maintain the quality specifications and quality focus of the company
- Provide Environmental support to all areas of the Company and for regulatory compliance
- Support managers with implementation of environmental compliance, programs and procedures
- Maintain electronic and manual records
- Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and/or ten (10)+ years of direct work experience without formal education
- Experience judging the weld quality on sheetmetal and other metals
- ASQ and CQE certification or commitment to such within 12 months
- Two (2)+ years of experience in developing inspection procedures, identifying key process control points, technical writing, auditing, statistical reporting, and defining inspection criteria
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred
- Fluency in protocols, work practices and procedures required to successfully support quality and EHS elements
