Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a virtual classroom setting for a school district in Alabama. This is a 1099 contract position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' lives through remote support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, real-time sign language interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a virtual classroom.
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to understand and address the communication needs of each student.
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all virtual interactions with students and staff.
Adapt your interpretation style to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student.
Use an online platform to manage schedules, assignments, and communication efficiently.

Qualifications:

Must be a licensed Sign Language Interpreter in Alabama.
At least 2 years of experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings.
Comfortable adapting to virtual interpreting technologies and platforms.
