Are you a seasoned professional in health insurance underwriting with a knack for financial analysis and risk assessment? We're looking for a talented Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a key part in evaluating financial risks and supporting informed lending decisions, all while contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

What You'll Need:

- Proven experience in underwriting special risks, intercollegiate sports, and group health insurance.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field, with 7+ years of underwriting experience in health insurance and special risk industries, or a similar combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex topics clearly and effectively.
- A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced setting, with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a track record of meeting deadlines.

What You'll Do:

- Prepare renewal quotes for existing clients and prospect quotes for potential clients based on experience data and available information.
- Maintain organized records of approved and delivered correspondence, and create templates for common communication topics like inquiries and concerns.
- Develop innovative tools to streamline the underwriting process.
- Support the Underwriting Director by managing team workload and mentoring Underwriters and Associate Underwriters in underwriting principles.
- Collaborate effectively with our Account Management team to set deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure smooth interactions and equitable rate determinations for both prospects and renewals.
