Are you an experienced underwriter with a passion for health insurance and special risk industries? We're looking for a talented Senior Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in financial analysis, portfolio management, and equity research to assess and evaluate financial risks, supporting our informed lending decisions.

What You'll Need:

- Experience: Proven track record in underwriting special risk, intercollegiate sports, and group health insurance.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field, combined with 7+ years of underwriting experience in health insurance and special risk industries. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly and effectively.
- Initiative: A self-starter who excels in problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You're a team player who can collaborate effectively to complete projects.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to meet strict deadlines and respond promptly to tasks.

Your Responsibilities:

- Renewal and Prospect Quotes: Develop renewal quotes for current clients using experience and available data. Create prospect quotes for potential clients based on experience data.
- Documentation: Archive all approved and delivered correspondence for future reference. Create templates for frequently used correspondence topics, including inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Tool Development: Conceptualize and build various tools to enhance the underwriting process.
- Team Support: Assist the Underwriting Director in managing the workload of the Underwriting Team.
- Mentorship: Help in the development of Underwriters and Associate Underwriters by sharing your knowledge of underwriting concepts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Account Management team to determine deadlines and priorities.
- Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external partners. Collaborate with external partners to determine equitable rates for prospect and renewal quotes.

Salary: $ 40,000.00 140,000.00 Per Year
